De Lijn is the Flemish Region’s partner for urban and regional public transport in, from and to Flanders. It is an external autonomous agency within the Mobility & Public Works policy domain. De Lijn is a centrally managed organisation with decentralised operations for those services that need to be on the ground and close to the customers. In this way, it contributes to the new Flemish transport model constructed around fifteen transport regions.
In 2020 De Lijn had 8.018 employees. In addition there are around 2 400 employees in private companies who drive by order of De Lijn.
Cnext delivers Data Platform & Integration services for De Lijn since 2009.
Since oct 2020, Cnext started the transition of a centralized OnPremise ESB (Enterprise Service Bus) based on Microsoft BizTalk Server towards Hybrid IPaaS based on Microsoft Azure Integration Services. It involves the integration with about 40 different applications, amongst backend systems like SAP and SaaS offerings like Microsoft Dynamics 365 and GPP (customer centric product offerings) custom development with Microsoft Azure Services.
This allows DeLijn to be more agile and be ready to support their initiatives to become more customer centric.
