Easy exchange of information and monitoring

ArcelorMittal is the largest steel producer in the world. Safety and quality are given top priority during the production process. This strategy is supported by IT investment, with major local IT projects at the production sites in Ghent and Liège, including for the support of administrative processes. The production site in Ghent can proudly call itself the number one in Europe for industrial automation, quality and production costs.

Cnext is helping ArcelorMittal Ghent to maintain and expand their Microsoft data platform. This platform is being used as an integration layer between the mainframe, the knowledge base, SAP, numerous websites, Azure, suppliers and various locations across Europe. This makes it easy for the sites and the suppliers to exchange information about materials, transport, orders, invoices and business data. Cnext is also assisting ArcelorMittal to operate the System Center Operations Manager for monitoring more than a thousand servers.

ECS grows thanks to automation

It’s impossible to drive for long on Belgium’s motorways without seeing an ECS container. The company is a familiar name in the logistics sector in Western Europe, with a fleet of more than 500 trucks and 6,000 containers. As well as transporting containers from the European mainland to Ireland and the UK, ECS also provides warehousing services in Zeebrugge.

Faster order processing

Automating its logistics ordering processes has given ECS unlimited scalability in terms of administration, and enabled it to speed up all its processes, from initial order to final invoicing, for both customers and suppliers. ECS has been able to grow over the years thanks to these investments.

Cnext also automated the administrative processes. The existing Microsoft data platform environment is set up as a platform for accelerating the integration of the new supply chain planning software with ECS’s and its customers’ and suppliers’ ERP systems. It’s also important to give new customers and suppliers access to the EDI platform as fast as possible.
